Oilfield chemical-formation interaction and the effects on petrophysical properties: a review

چکیده
Abstract Oil and gas recovery may cause formation damage during drilling, completion, production phases. As a result of fundamental chemical, thermal, mechanical, biological interactions, can occur due to impairment permeability porosity, causing undesirable operational economic problem. The fluid-rock interactions resulting from oilfield chemicals injection enhanced oil (EOR) such as chemical flooding, or treatment could negatively impact on the properties geomechanical geochemical, leading alteration rock’s petrophysical properties. These chemical-rock induce changes in both pore space geometry rock strength. resultant includes weakening bonding materials, damage, reduced consequently sand simultaneously with reservoir fluids. It is therefore critical evaluate these variables prior designing any geo-sequestration, stimulation EOR projects. Studies have shown that properties, especially permeability, porosity strength, are altered damaged cementing, perforating, producing, stimulating, injecting water for EOR. Petroleum companies likely suffer significant financial losses this.
